Vaughan, ON: Digica announced today that it has officially launched the DigiCare Innovation Center, also known as the DCIC.
The DCIC contains several of the leading technologies that Digica offers to it's customers. Vendors such as Cisco, Citrix, HP, IBM, Microsoft, CryptoCard, and vmware are all showcased for customers to come into our office and test.
The DCIC is comprised of three main "centers".
- Data Center - Core
- Data Center - Access
- Edge Interface
Data Center - Core represents what most organizations build out in a co-location facility, or in their own core data centers. The DCIC Data Center - Core contains an HP BladeSystem, an HP EVA, Cisco ASA, Cisco Catalyst Switching, Cisco Call Manager Express, Citrix, Microsoft Data Center Edition, Microsoft Exchange Enterprise, CryptoCard Authentication Server, Citrix Presentation Server, APC Power Distribution, and so much more. The Core is configured at the DigiCare Co-Location facilities at 151 Front Street with multiple connections to the public internet.
Data Center - Access represents what many organizations would push out to local departments or branch offices. The Access layer includes an IBM BladeSystem S with localized storage, Cisco ASA, Cisco Catalyst Switching, Cisco Wireless Access Points, APC Power Distribution, vmware and Microsoft servers, and so much more. It is connected back to the Data Center - Core via a dedicated public internet connection and a private point-to-point 15 mbps sync data connection.
The DCIC Edge Interface layer is comprised of several technologies typically found in and around a user's desk. Technologies such as an HP Desktop, a Cisco Phone, a Cisco Unified Video Advantage Camera, Cisco local call failover technologies powered by Cisco Unified Communications 500 phone system, and a complete array of typical user applications are all connected back to the Core via the Access layer. At the Vaughan location, Digica has built out two separate Access layers (i.e. branches) with independant public internet connections to truthfully demonstrate real-life performance of the technologies and solutions we recommend.
The DigiCare Innovation Center is now open to facilitate customized demonstrations for customers to have a true experience of what they can expect in their own offices, no matter how large their enterprise can be.
Digica will be adding new technologies to the DCIC over time, such as Virtual Desktops (VDI), v-motion, and Disaster Recovery solutions.
